Understanding COPD Exacerbations
What is an acute exacerbation of COPD?
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations, or flare-ups, are characterised by a sudden worsening of respiratory symptoms that can last for days or even weeks.1,2 Frequent exacerbations signal poor disease control and increase the risk of future exacerbations.1
